First off, let me get this off my chest...WOO first post! I am so happy to finally get this going, and I hope you guys are too! Anyway, now  that that's out of the way, let's get started on this week's topic--nutrition in the work place!

If you're like me, you spend a lot of time sitting around doing paperwork (the curse of being a doctor, unfortunately). The lack of activity throughout the workday (in addition to the stress caused by intense paperwork) can cause your health to take a dive, particularly in the weight category. Thus, here are a few ideas to ensure you get through the work day without gaining too many lbs.

1. Take Walks: If your job allows it, take mini walks throughout the day. This can get you up off of the chair for a second so you aren't sitting down all day. It may not seem like much, but it can help.

2. Workout after Work: When you get home from work, don't just go straight to the TV. Make sure you do a bit of working out--perhaps some weightlifting or cardio. This way, you'll be able to cut the problem of inactivity throughout the day.

3. Diet, Diet, Diet: Unfortunately, with all that, it can still be very difficult to stay in shape while working. This is why you positively have to diet. Stay away from bad foods, like sugar and fat, while still eating nutritiously (i.e get everything you need off of the food pyramid).
